Defining Sociolinguistics

Defining sociolinguistics: sociolinguistics is often defined as the study of language in relation to society in other words sociolinguistics is the study of how language serves and is shaped by the social nature of human beings. In its broadest conception sociolinguistics analyzes the many and diverse ways in which language and society interlink. This vast field desciplines including linguistics, sociology, psychology and anthropology. It is the field which studies the relation betwen language and societies between the uses of language and the social structures in which the users of the language live that is ti say sociolinguistics is the study of language as it affected by social relations. Sociolinguistics encompasses a broad range of concerns including bilingualism, pidgin and creole languages  and other ways that language use is influnced by contact among people of different language communities sociolinguistics also examine different dialects, acents and levels of diction in light of social distinction among people.
